It makes the game look smoother and more artistic while retaining the look and charm of the original. It's textures that have been run through a watercolor filter. Morrowind Watercolored is not going to be hyper realistic. Voila, you're done in like 30 minutes if you don't have to do much FPS tweaking in MGE. Tweak if you need performance, or crank it if your machine can handle it. Run MGE XE with the settings stated on the Morrowind Watercolored page. Open the Morrowind Launcher and select all of the Data Files These aren't graphical except for the sunrise/sunset one.

Install whichever Gameplay changes you'd like from STEP. Install all of the User Interface changes from STEP except the SSM RPG Text, as it makes some weird changes like changing Long Blade to Swordplay and etc. Install all the Fixes from the STEP guide. Install all the Patches from the STEP guide. I'm running a simple loadout based on the STEP guide that looks great to me: That said, if you don't plan on using other head/hair and clothing mods, then by all means, go with Robert's and Mackoms, because aside from the compatibilty issues I think they are the highest quality character replacers out there. Plus I've always been a huge fan of Westly's work in general. For those reasons, I stuck with Better Bodies + Westly's textures and Westly's head replacer.

As far as Mackom's heads go, the ears are built on to the head and the hairs have no ears attached, so if you try to use heads or hair from different mods with Mackom stuff, you'll either have no ears or four ears. Better Clothes works well with it though, from what I hear. Robert's doesn't have the same shape as Better Bodies, so clipping will show up on a lot of Better Bodies-based mods, particularly on females. Robert's Bodies and Mackom's Heads + addons are gorgeous, but they have compatibility issues with older cosmetic mods that were a dealbreaker for me personally. I second the pastebin + guide that /u/macbone mentioned, but as far as the heads and bodies go, that one is still iffy for me.
